We, the Media and Democracy Lab (MEDDEM Lab), identify as a non-profit, non-partisan organization for the promotion of media literacy in German-speaking territories.
The MEDDEM Lab is led by Dr. Katherine Gürtler, professor of Intercultural Communication and English at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg.
As the MEDDEM Lab, we specialize in media and educational research on critical media literacy. We prepare concepts and findings of international research for all age groups and experience levels, merge them into new and easily applicable concepts and thus make media literacy accessible to a broad public. In doing so, we want to do our part to educate and maintain an informed society, encourage critical engagement with media, and in this way promote healthy democratic discourse.
